3rd Annual Asian All Star Charity Game

A little bit of history of this event:

Men’s Game:

In 2006, the Chinese Ice Dragons defeated the Japanese Arashi in a hard fought game, that was decided in OT. The CID’s would take this game 3-2, and would have “bragging rights” for the year.

The Japanese Arashi would get their revenge the following year (2007), and would come back with a vengeance winning 7-2 in a lopsided affair.

This year featured the rubber match, and was quite an exciting high scoring affair. The Japanese team would get off to a quick start and hold off the Chinese Dragons 7-5.

Women’s Game:

2007 saw the women included in this annual affair, and would pit the Chinese Mayhem vs the Japanese Typhoon. The women’s game was the first in the double header event, and this game didn’t disappoint. The two All Star women’s teams would battle hard, and the Typhoon would emerge victorious in a close game.

2008 was quite an exciting affair and saw the game come down to the wire. Unfortunately, the game was abruptly stopped with the Typhoon up 2-1 with only a couple of minutes left in the game…and the Mayhem on the Powerplay. If this doesn’t set us up for an exciting next game…I don’t know what would.

Children's Games

All 3 children’s games went really well, and provided us a great start to a great tradition. The teams were evenly matched for all 3 games, and having the children join us was fantastic! We included 2 competitive games (A, AA, AAA), and 1 recreational game this year.
